Beach and Bubbles

We went to a friends place for a BBQ lunch on Australia Day.  We got some bubble machines out and Owen had a wonderful time chasing the bubbles around the yard.  He is now 16 months old, can you believe it?  Here he is:

The next day we went to Paper Beach for Owen's first swim in the sea, he loved it and was quite the beach babe.

We had a lovely day, picnicking and paddling on the beach.

Happy Birthday Dear Colin

Hello,

My beautiful husband celebrated his birthday on the 30th of January so of course a suitable card had to be made for him.  I took inspiration from the sketch challenge from the team at Just Add Ink (although I didn't get it up in time for the challenge).  Here is the challenge layout:

Here is the card that I made:

I also helped Owen to make a card for his daddy, he seems to really enjoy stamping and gets excited when we lift up the stamp and there is an image there.  Here is his creation:

Isn't he a clever?

Creative Scrappers Sketch #243 Challenge

Hello,
When I get the time I have been scrapping the photos from our honey moon, I think I am only up to day three or four of our six week trip and have enough to fill two albums, so it is going to be a big job.  I thought I would partake in the Creative Scrappers Challenge #243 for some photos that we took whilst at the Vancouver Aquarim.  Here is the sketch challenge:

The House

Hello,

Thought I would put some updated photos of the house up.  It is almost finished now and we are living in it, but I thought I would put up some photos of the new extension without all of our stuff in it and add some more photos later.

This is our new lounge room, beyond the double door way is our entrance and the door way you can see beyond that was our old back door.

This is the new kitchen, with the dining room area off to the left hand side.

The kitchen again, the door off the kitchen is our lovely big walk in pantry.  I don't know how we coped with such a tiny pantry.

This is our rumpus, which is now home to our eight ball table.  The room of this is the study (or should I say my crafting room with a small corner for Colin and his computer).

I promise to put up more pictures, hopefully soon, of the furnished new extension, plus the renovated old living area, which is now our master bedroom with ensuite.

Fire Truck

One of the presents that Owen got for his first birthday was a fire truck from his Great Auntie Avril in Scotland.  He just loves it, it came with two little fire men and makes some awesome sounds.  The firemen have had to go in the bath with him on many occasion because he doesn't want to give them up.

This is a picture that Colin took of Owen in the Church garden which is located next to my work.  He was just starting to learn to walk, which he has since mastered quite well.  Look at those dimples!!  What a cutie.

Two Firsts

 Hello There,
Thought I would share some of Owen's firsts with you, his first hair cut and his first birthday.  His first hair was on the 22nd of September and he went really well.  He sat relatively still, there was no crying and more importantly no mishaps with the scissors.  He has since had a further hair cut and he was the total opposite!  The hair dresser who cut his hair the first time kept calling him a dude and in her Irish accent it sounded rather cool.  He even got some baby product in his hair!

Owen's first birthday was a rather low key affair, just a bbq tea out our place with my parents and a Owens Godmother.  This is the cake that I made for him.

Here we see Owen enjoying his first birthday cake, chocolate of course.

Something tells me that he liked his birthday cake!!
